A continuous watch by the WRD on the dynamics of wind behavior enables our management to make crucial decisions at the right time with respect to the project.
The team also helps in deciding the right turbine for the right site. Our WRD is equipped with the best tools and staff specializing in data analytics, it's mining and interpretation.

IDENTIFICATION OF WIND RICH SITES:
INSTALLATION OF ONSITE MASTS WIND DATA MONITORING:
Wind masts are installed with required sensors for recording accurate data related to wind and weather.
Wind masts are equipped with Automatic Data Logging System, Anemometers and other sensors to accurately record wind and weather data. We collect data from across the country from our wind mast at heights of circa 125m.
WIND DATA ANALYSIS
Using state of the art software, the WRD can produce reports characterizing the statistics of wind data, including wind shear patterns, daily and seasonal patterns, wind roses, wind power density, and turbulence intensity etc.
We, at SMD, understand the importance of high quality, bankable wind data. It is for this reason, all our sites have wind masts geared to the highest standards under the supervision of our WRD team as well as that of EDF Renouvelables. SMD was the first developer in India to have set in place highly sophisticated wind measurement systems up to international standards used in wind assessment today.
